Performing Arts Academy of Marin is thrilled to present The Wizard of Oz! Adapted for the stage by L. Frank Baum, with music & lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, this show brings fun, excitement, and imagination to the stage. Directed and choreographed by PAAM’s own Matthew McCoy.

Mill Valley resident and Artistic Director Annie Leese Thistle is thrilled to be putting on this production! “Wizard of Oz is a show near and dear to my heart. It was the first full length musical we produced at PAAM and we are bringing it back for our 15th year celebration. I cannot wait to see the magic onstage and celebrate our brilliant cast of students and the artists who guide them. This is a fun-filled family event not to be missed.”

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.

Featuring performers ages 10 to 18, PAAM’s Mainstage production is a part of our BAYPAC Theater Program, which connects the supportive community of peers that have a shared passion for theater arts. Designed for advanced students ages 10+ that are committed to training and pursuing theater or on-camera acting on a pre-professional level, the BAYPAC Theater Program offers students weekly musical theater and film training, full-scale stage productions and performances, private coaching, and exclusive workshops with industry professionals. www.PAAMArts.com
